In Braunwald are many stations for the cablecar, gondola, skilift and so on. Almost all of them are only work in a functional way. There is almost no connection to the place in an architectural way.
If you drive trough Glarnerland at night you will always see some lights on the left or the right side of the mountain. Mostly theses are small house and someone lives there. In a way they look like lanterns in the forest. Somehow they give you a good feeling.
A cablecarstation, which is also understood as the new entrance or one of the entrances of braunwald. Something that lights and leads the eyes upwards - a sign that shows there is still something.
There is this moment when you are hiking in the mountains and go carefully to the front of a cliff and look down. This is the imagination of how the building should look like - looking down with light feets.
Placed on the Orenplatte, the latern is visible from far away.
