Embracing House

The Embracing House defines a branch of the lake and uses it as his own. The design looks like a few farmhouses. Those farmhouses are pavillions which housing a wellness that takes the best out of the lake. In the lake is a cold water swimmingpool which will be natural filterted by the waterplants. The houses contain a combination of simple but cozy ‘motelrooms’ to stay over the night and welness facilities like a hot water bath and a steam bath.

The idea started with the design of the lake letting go it’s own way. The lake would find the lower  places in the landscape and a branch would be formed by the water. The houses seclude this part of the lake and creating a nice and private environment to bath.

Also the structure and materials of the houses strengthen this feeling. For example all of the wooden structure houses have a slope roof. The roofs hangin over and connecting with each other to create a closed half ring embracing the water.
