‘The bisse of Braunwald – Die Braunwalder Wasserleite’

Jedes Jahr rutscht Braunwald, ein wichtiges touristisches Gebiet im Glarnerland, ins Tal. Seine vorteilhafte topographische Konfiguration in Form einer Terrasse besteht geologisch gesehen aus einer instabilen Masse, die auf einer rutschigen Oberfläche abgelagert ist. Um das infiltrierte Wasser, das dieses Abrutschen begünstigt, zu beseitigen, wird demnächst ein groß angelegtes Drainagesystem errichtet. Pro Minute wird diese Konstruktion 1.200 bis 6.000 Liter ableiten. Das vorgestellte Projekt schlägt vor, diese natürliche Ressource zu nutzen, um die Attraktivität des Ortes zu steigern.
Inspiriert von den Walliser Bisses und dem Holzbrunnen von Valendas besteht das Projekt aus zwei Teilen. Der erste, ein hölzerner Kanal, wird an der Stelle des Entwässerungsweges gebaut. Diese "Bisse" wird von einem Spaziergang begleitet, der von Ruhezonen unterbrochen wird. Der zweite, eher private Teil, besteht aus mehreren Wellness-Oasen. Diese bieten verschiedene Bereiche, wie ein heißes Bad, ein kaltes Bad, eine Sauna und einen Ruhebereich. Das aus den Drainagen gewonnene Wasser wird hervorgehoben, indem es in allen Teilen des Projekts zirkuliert.
Das Projekt, das in Modulen entwickelt wurde, erlaubt es, leicht auf die steile Topographie des Geländes zu reagieren. Es sorgt auch für Vielfalt, indem es jede Oase auf einzigartige Weise komponiert. Das Projekt sieht eine einfache Konstruktion mit Low-Tech-Details vor. Die Struktur ist aus Weißtannenholz aus der Region selbst gefertigt. Die Teile des Holzes, die eine größere Widerstandsfähigkeit erfordern, sind aus Kastanienholz aus dem Tessin gefertigt.

Every year, Braunwald, a major tourist destination in Glarus, slides down into the valley. Its advantageous topographic configuration in the shape of a terrace consists geologically of an unstable mass deposited on a slippery surface. A large-scale drainage system will soon be put in place to eliminate the infiltrated water that favors this slide. Every minute this construction will evacuate 1'200 to 6'000 liters. The presented project proposes to use this natural resource to reinforce the attractiveness of the place.
Inspired by the Valaisan bisses and the wooden fountain of Valendas, the project is composed of two parts. The first, a wooden canal is built on the site of the drainage route. This "bisse" is accompanied by a walk punctuated by rest areas. The second, more private part is composed of several wellness oases. These offer different spaces, such as a hot bath, cold bath and sauna. The water extracted from the drainages is highlighted by circulating in all parts of the project.
The project developed in modules allows to easily respond to the steep topography of the site. It also provides diversity by composing each oasis in a unique way. The project proposes a simple construction with low tech details. The structure is made of white fir wood from the region itself. The structure is made of white fir wood from the region itself.
