RUFI – LIVING FALLOW LANDS: Retreat & Recreation in Hätzingen, Glarus

From Glarus you come from Luchsingen over the bridge of the Linth to Hätzingen. There you are greeted on the left side by the old existing villa of the former textile factory and on the right side by a new long building, in which store, restaurant, reception and seven small hotel rooms are accommodated. From the restaurant there is an enormous view over the new artificial lake, without disturbing the panorama of the villa. The restaurant sets the lying counterpart to the standing vacation houses, which can be seen in the direction of the mountain Tödi. The houses, which are partly standing in the water, are accessible via a wooden walkway. There are three different vacation towers. However, all of them are undirected and free-standing. Each tower stands on a concrete base, on which stamped concrete is layered. In the houses people live vertically. Each function is located on a separate floor. The staircase development and the pentagonal floor plan create exciting corners to retreat to in the wooden interior.
