Create Context&#38;nbsp;with&#38;nbsp;Your&#38;nbsp;Own&#38;nbsp;FictionLast semester, we dedicated ourselves to an actual request from a client in Glarner Grosstal. The goal was to create an artificial lake along the Linth below Hätzingen. Holiday and apartment homes would be docked there.


A natural hollow formed the lake. That accentuated the empty space between the towns of Adlenbach and Hätzingen. So far, so good, but how and whether to build a holiday village there, indeed if one wished to refer to the familiar images at all, was something we explored under the title ‘Living Fallow Lands: Retreat &#38;amp; Recreation in Hätzingen, Glarus’. We wanted to solve the paradox of touristic concerns. We wanted to understand the tightrope walk that had to be mastered and where the unrecognised opportunities lay. Can we make a contribution of lasting relevance? For that, we needed an entire semester and several discussions with our guests, Thomas Paturet and Gordian Blumenthal.


One of the biggest hurdles – and there were several – was that we were supposedly working in an open field around an empty space and yet every intervention related to the organic structure of settlement, however much some tried to overcome that. The romantic projects that were artificially simulating a connection to nature had to admit that their strategy would not work. The more successful ones were those that could, on the one hand, preserve the relationship to the existing and yet, on the other hand, make a fresh and strong contribution by way of their own personal idea of recreation and a change to the usual ideas about housing. It turned out that those works that were based on existing settlement structures or spatial typographies but then overwrote them with their own fiction were the most successful ones. The new needs the existing. Both sides are necessary, because the unfamiliar needs the familiar so that what is different is perceived as new and not just as foreign.


With Hans Döllgast’s Künstlerhof or Zumthor’s Dierauer House, we learned how new things can be created from the familiar. A simple, repetitive courtyard was fitted with a slender, tall, round tower. In the case of the Dierauer House, an traditional setting was inscribed with a new twist with a little of the empirical in the setting and a crosswise roof. But is such a strategy suitable for every design task? What if it needs more than a de-familiarisation, if the place is not so much supposed to affect the building as the building shapes the space, if it needs more ‘impact’ to revive the impoverished place?


Braunwald as a&#38;nbsp;Place&#38;nbsp;of&#38;nbsp;Longing

For this inversion of the theme, we go to Braunwald. That car-free holiday village is located above our studio. Its southern slope was transformed from an Alpine pasture into a chic spa town and later into a holiday village. Like many other holiday resorts, Braunwald has also shrunk because of lack of demand. Some claim that this is due to the inaccessible, distant location, which can only be reached via a funicular. Some voices express a longing for a road into the valley.


But what is it really lacking? To answer that, you have to know not only the situation in Braunwald but also the situation of the entire Glarus countryside. Our primary goal should not be to build for tourists. That, we learned, would be a mistake. We want to build for the people of Glarus and the surrounding cantons. Tourists will then come of their own accord. That is the simple basis for authentic tourism – and sustainable tourism, because the place will continue to function even if one day there are no longer any visitors.


We don’t believe the place can be revived by building more holiday homes or improved by addressing the question of access. Those working from home and digital nomads will not have sufficient influence either. Our thesis is that a new, strong narrative is needed. A powerful, present architectural complement on a large scale. Of the size and effect of a “fairy-tale” or “music” hotel. That is the ambition that we want to pursue with you this semester.


We will determine the right place in Braunwald and the fiction that will sufficiently viable by discussing them with residents, hoteliers and engineers. That will be the open and challenging part of the task. Our hope is that architecture can create a place of longing for the long term, an auratic original in Walter Benjamin’s sense. Perhaps some of you will manage it this semester. We are looking forward to this venture with you.

We are assuming a paradox that is probably rather rare: authentic tourism. Although Switzerland was originally a place of longing, fully of myths and experiences of nature, it successfully began to develop its mountain landscape as a tourist destination and later, no less successfully, turned the mountains into sporting equipment and created new sources of longing, nevertheless the answers to the question of how visitors are to be housed range from the superficial to the unsatisfying.


Good examples are few and far between and often laden with clichés. How can one be close to a place, have a connection to it, if one only stays there for a few short, overly eventful days? How can one experience the landscape if hundreds or even thousands of others are doing so at the same time? There is nothing tourists hate more than other tourists. Another paradox.


We do not have the temerity to believe we will find valid answers during this semester. Nevertheless, we want to permit ourselves to ask what tourism or recreation could really be. What sort of qualities can a ‚fallow land‘, to borrow a term from the title of Studio Basel‘s urban planning studies of Glarus Süd, development? To that end, we want to start from the site and its possibilities.


In this master‘s focus, we understand materials not only as a local, sustainable and perhaps even circular product for construction but also very generally as a rational resistance. The existing materials themselves thus become a participant along with the architect. This view is the foundation of our way of working.&#38;nbsp; It relieves us of the need for singular, Individual achievements – or, more precisely, It opens up for us a subtler perception and therefore more universal answers.


The task of putting buildings in a not very populated valley raises the very general question of how noticeable the intervention will be. How different are culture and (cultivated) nature, how do we design the relationship between unspoilt scenery and refinement by means of design? In the end, we are confronted with the difficult question of how identical and authentic a vacation village can be. Is it advisable to keep building on existing images?


Authenticity In the sense of an original, as a design objective, has probably increased in value over the last decade, because following a canon of rules based on the latest isms gave way to a personally coloured self-exploration whose means of making its essences or qualities plausible were coherence and perhaps even logic.


Designing an original, which in this context can never be original, has long been a paradoxical and yet powerful narrative that in the Alpine regions has been conveyed by postcards and travelogues. Think of the presentation of fortress-like colossi taller than some mountain peaks or of the romantic placement of some hotels in front of waterfalls or bodies of water in general.


We want to start understanding architecture as an expansion or reinforcement of the features of the landscape.&#38;nbsp; To that end, we do not start with our ideas of houses or ground plans or questions of comfort or ideas about use. We begin with the image of the landscape. An artificial lake whose name still needs to be invented.


During the semester we will study buildings that engage in exemplary ways with the relationship of housing and landscape. In the process, we will get a sense of diverse types of design in the interplay with the landscape, no matter whether that landscape is natural or artificial.


Around the lake, between the road bridge and the canal and the existing village district of Hätzingen, potential use by tourist will be developed based on their ideas. It need not be based on my quick sketches. My planned expansion of the small-scale wooden buildings of Adlenbach and the solitary hotel building to the south are just the first, still superficial and perhaps unfinished ideas. We expect you to come up with your own idea and constellation of uses. Above all, however, an architectural answer that is worked out so that the immediate and more distant landscape are closely integrated.


Group works are not permitted, but we want to work and discuss together in the studio. We will work with Archicad Teamworks, 3-D printers, models, not with plans but with project handbooks. We will be in the studio on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

‘Charisma’Nils OppligerFS21 Final


Absicht Das Projekt setzt beim vielfältigen Kulturprogramm von Braunwald an. Das Lesecafé &#38;amp; Kulturbar BSINTI steht sinnbildlich für den kulturellen Austausch im Dorf. Es stellt einen Raum zur Verfügung für Ausstellungen, Bühnenkunst, Musik, Lesungen und Dorfversammlungen. Momentan besitzt es jedoch nur eine geringe Ausstrahlungskraft, womit es nicht gelingt das Dorf in seiner Entwicklung langfristig zu prägen. Aus diesem Grund soll das vorliegende Projekt dem BSINTI ein neues Zuhause mit Charisma bieten. Ein Ort soll entstehen, wo sich die Bewohner und Besucher von Braunwald treffen, sich austauschen und das diverse Kulturprogramm geniessen können. Die Position des BSINTI als kulturelles Rückgrat des Dorfes wird damit gestärkt und es kann zukünftig einen erheblichen Einfluss auf die Entwicklung von Braunwald haben. Vielleicht entwickelt sich Braunwald zu einem lebendigen Kulturort, der von der Einzigartigkeit, der Entschleunigung und der Verbundenheit Braunwalds profitiert. Durch das Projekt wird an den vorgefundenen Qualitäten, die den Ort ausmachen, festgehalten und zusätzlich verstärkt, damit die faszinierende Atmosphäre von Braunwald auch noch in 100 Jahren zu erleben ist.

Intention The project starts with the diverse cultural program of Braunwald. The reading café &#38;amp; culture bar BSINTI is emblematic for the cultural exchange in the village. It provides a space for exhibitions, stage art, music, readings and village meetings. At the moment, however, it has only a small charisma, which does not succeed in shaping the village in its development in the long term. For this reason, the present project aims to offer BSINTI a new home with charisma. A place should be created where the inhabitants and visitors of Braunwald can meet, exchange ideas and enjoy the diverse cultural program. The position of the BSINTI as the cultural backbone of the village will thus be strengthened and it can have a considerable influence on the development of Braunwald in the future. Perhaps Braunwald will develop into a lively cultural center that benefits from Braunwald's uniqueness, deceleration and connectedness. Through the project, the found qualities that make up the place will be held on to and additionally strengthened, so that the fascinating atmosphere of Braunwald can still be experienced in 100 years.

A humble area where memories could be created. I immedietly wanted to target children. Luckily, Braunwald turns out to be a family-friendly summer/winter holiday location.

When I arrived in Braunwald, I noticed its simplicity and isolation from the busy world. I took the time to explore the area and take photos on my first visit. The family-friendly aspect of Braunwald immedietly made me think about the children who were coming alongside their families on vacation.&#38;nbsp;

What if Braunwald offered an alternative schedule for children who come to Braunwald with their parents? The experiences a child has are lifelong, and Braunwald is the place that could offer that.&#38;nbsp;

Since there are numerous outdoor activities, the architectural intervention is a Sleepaway Camp, where the children sleep together for a short time in a room. In the meantime, memories and experiences are gathered as they spend their days togehter in Braunwald.

Entering Braunwald today, is a process of at least 15min. You have to wait for the train to leave, the ride takes 8min and then you need to get out of the train and station. This means that the entrance into the village is a long experience, but it is not the most pleasant one. On top, you leave the station on to a small square where it is not nice to stay. All passengers are waiting there, for a horse, a taxi or waiting to start their hike/ski day. This means that you are kind of squashed to each other.

With this project, I would like to make this process of entering the village more attractive. Therefore, I intend on using the space left behind by the destroyed Hotel Alpenblick. On this spot, I would create a new public space/square which functions as a big terrace where the tourists and local population can sit and enjoy the view. This new square could also provide in facilities such as: tourist office, ticket office and hotel. The present square next to the station will be integrated and redesigned into a square where the electric cars and horses can wait in a more attractive way. In this way, there will be a more silenced, new square on top and a busier and noisier one below. A new terrace for the terrace. By creating more space for all the activities taking place there, I hope to reverse the ongoing demise of the village center and bring back the grandeur this place once had.

In this way, the first impression on the village will be improved and made more attractive, perhaps even for people to come up and live there. It could also mark the start of a series of improvements in order to make the village lively again.

Die Einfahrt nach Braunwald ist heute ein Prozess von mindestens 15min. Man muss auf die Abfahrt des Zuges warten, die Fahrt dauert 8min und dann muss man aus dem Zug und dem Bahnhof aussteigen. Das bedeutet, dass die Einfahrt in den Ort eine lange Erfahrung ist, die nicht die angenehmste ist. Oben angekommen, verlässt man den Bahnhof auf einen kleinen Platz, auf dem es nicht schön ist, sich aufzuhalten. Alle Reisenden warten dort, auf ein Pferd, ein Taxi oder warten darauf, ihren Wander-/Skitag zu beginnen. Das bedeutet, dass man irgendwie aneinander gequetscht ist.
Mit diesem Projekt möchte ich diesen Prozess des Eintretens in den Ort attraktiver gestalten. Deshalb habe ich vor, den Platz zu nutzen, den das zerstörte Hotel Alpenblick hinterlassen hat. An dieser Stelle würde ich einen neuen öffentlichen Raum/Platz schaffen, der als große Terrasse fungiert, auf der die Touristen und die lokale Bevölkerung sitzen und die Aussicht genießen können. Dieser neue Platz könnte auch Einrichtungen wie ein Touristenbüro, einen Ticketschalter und ein Hotel beherbergen. Der derzeitige Platz neben dem Bahnhof wird in einen Platz integriert und umgestaltet, auf dem die Elektroautos und Pferde auf attraktivere Weise warten können. Auf diese Weise wird es oben einen ruhigeren, neuen Platz geben und unten einen belebteren und lauteren. Eine neue Terrasse für die Terrasse. Indem ich mehr Platz für all die Aktivitäten schaffe, die dort stattfinden, hoffe ich, den fortschreitenden Niedergang des Dorfzentrums umzukehren und diesem Ort die Größe zurückzugeben, die er einmal hatte.
Auf diese Weise wird der erste Eindruck des Dorfes verbessert und attraktiver gemacht, vielleicht sogar für Menschen, die hierher kommen und dort leben wollen. Es könnte auch der Beginn einer Reihe von Verbesserungen sein, um das Dorf wieder lebendig zu machen.

Auf der Suche nach einem starken, neuen Narrativ für das nächste Zeitalter Braunwalds wurde versucht, sich an etwas Beständigem und Traditionellem festzuhalten. Dieses Beständige konnte in der Musikwoche Braunwalds gefunden werden.&#38;nbsp;
Vor fast 90 Jahren wurde das Festival ins Leben gerufen, um in der harten Zeit von Wirtschaftskrise und zwei Weltkriegen In - und Outsidern das Leben etwas erträglicher zu gestalten. Da die Musikwoche immer mehr an Beliebtheit gewann, bekam man in Braunwald von Zeit zu Zeit mehr Mühe, einen passenden Ort dafür zu finden.

Die Intension des Entwurfes ist es, dem Festival ein gerechtes Zuhause zu schenken, damit in diesen ungewissen Zeiten für Braunwald wieder ein Sehnsuchtsort für Glarner und Auswärtige entstehen kann.


Die Lage des Projekts wird durch die passenden Topografie und der guten Erreichbarkeit von jeder Ecke Braunwalds aus begründet.


Das Hauptaugenmerk des Entwurfes liegt darin, eine Dynamik und Lebendigkeit unter den Besuchern, wie auch einen Dialog mit den Künstlern zu schaffen. Hierfür wurde ein Ensemble aus 3 Gebäuden angedacht, in welchem jedes Gebäude eine spezifische Nutzung beherbergt. Die Ausrichtung der einzelnen Gebäude wurde gemäss den jeweiligen innnräumlichen Anforderungen bestimmt. Um die Beziehung zwischen Künstlern und Zuschauern zu manifestieren, befindet sich das Foyer des Konzertsaals im Resonanzraum unter der Bühne.

ENIn the search for a strong, new narrative for the next age of Braunwald, an attempt was made to hold on to something enduring and traditional. This constant was found in Braunwald's Music Week. Almost 90 years ago, the festival was launched to make life a little more bearable for insiders and outsiders during the hard times of the economic crisis and two world wars. As the music week grew in popularity, Braunwald had more and more trouble finding a suitable location.
The intention of the design is to give the festival a suitable home, so that in these uncertain times Braunwald can once again become a place of longing for people from Glarus and abroad.

The location of the project is based on the suitable topography and the good accessibility from every corner of Braunwald.

The idea of the design is to create a dynamic and liveliness among the visitors as well as a dialogue with the artists. For this purpose, an ensemble of 3 buildings was conceived, in which each building accommodates a specific use. The orientation of the individual buildings was determined according to the respective spatial requirements. In order to manifest the relationship between artists and spectators, the foyer of the concert hall is located in the resonance space of the stage.

Pavla&#38;nbsp;NesvadbíkováFS21 Final


The object can be whatever– a shelter, a place for meditation, a church. Only man himself will bring the meaning, the function to it. A high stone wall towers over the Braunwald, emphasizing the silhouette of Orstock. The wall is made of local stone, which is then filled with concrete (to make a sharer shape as in contrast with the nature) and it’s created by local people, to sort of putting people together to create something that can become significant for Braunwald. The building marks the landscape – from outside and inside as well. When you enter the space, you can feel the difference between mankind and nature, a perfect smooth circle hovering above the steeply sloping rough rocky ground, a roof to hide under and the edge of the wall cutting through the air (as the edge of Ortstock) and dividing it into 2 halves that can be viewed through 2 small gaps.  


Branwald. Place
hidden on a mountin terrace. And if you don’t know that it does exist, you can
easily stand under the cliff and don’t know that above you is a whole new world
spreading. 


The place is
quiet, hardly reachable. However I know about somenting up there, something
that triggers me, something hidden in the mountins that makes me want to go up
there. 


A smooth crystal
emerging from the rock. Two walls connecting at one point like a fore of a boat
are cutting the landscape. In the contrast with rought nature I find myself in
the middle of perfect conic space hidden behind them. The edge of the circle is
floating abbove stones, at one point it touches them, in the opposite side
lifts &#38;nbsp;high enough, so I can (altought bent)
come under the roof. There are two significant openings among the other windows
which are placed right in the edge. Through one slit I’m looking at Braunwald
through the other one I’m looking into the valley. 


I unpacked
hammocke, hung it in between two columns and went to sleep.

‘Braunwald Theatre’Amir Zejnullahu&#38;nbsp;FS21 Final


After having the discussions with the local people and those who enjoy only vacations and weekends in Braunwald I could observe some key elements that were important from their views. For example the oldest music festival of Braunwald was mentioned during the meetings as an important element that contributes also to the collective memory of the people living in the region region, or someone else even mentioned collective spaces for artists to gather sometime to discuss ideas and share opinions. I also personally was thinking to build something that had to do with cultural activities. Basically the idea was to create something that would increase the activity in Braunwald and also help the local businesses such as hotels. The idea is to create a theatre which will serve for other purposes too, like a hall in which you can perform different kind of cultural activities. Besides that there is also an artist's house which is destined to serve as a space in which people can organize events, workshops and different kind of organizational activities. On top of that, a restaurant will be designed to complete the functional triangle which will be linked through a pathways with the theatre. The functional areas are separated into two units to enable interaction between spaces (invisible spaces), the slope has been used to emerge the building with the topography.&#38;nbsp;

Nachdem wir die Gesprächen mit den Einheimischen und denjenigen, die nur Urlaube und Wochenenden in Braunwald verbringen, konnte ich einige Schlüsselelemente beobachten, die aus ihrer Sicht wichtig waren. aus deren Sicht. Zum Beispiel wurde das älteste Musikfestival von Braunwald bei den Gesprächen als ein wichtiges Element erwähnt, das auch zum kollektiven Gedächtnis der Region beiträgt, oder jemand anderes erwähnte sogar kollektive Räume für Künstler, um sich einmal zu treffen, um Ideen zu diskutieren und Meinungen auszutauschen. Ich persönlich habe auch daran gedacht, etwas zu bauen, das mit kulturellen Aktivitäten zu tun hat. Im Grunde genommen war die Idee, etwas zu schaffen, das die Aktivität in Braunwald erhöht und auch den lokalen Unternehmen wie Hotels hilft. Die Idee ist, ein Theater zu schaffen, das auch für andere Zwecke dienen soll, wie eine Halle, in der man verschiedene Arten von kulturellen Aktivitäten durchgeführt werden können. Daneben gibt es auch ein Künstlerhaus, das als Raum dienen soll, in dem Menschen Veranstaltungen, Workshops und verschiedene Arten von organisatorischen Aktivitäten organisieren können. Auf Darüber hinaus wird ein Restaurant entworfen, um das funktionale Dreieck zu vervollständigen das durch einen Weg mit dem Theater verbunden sein wird. [...]  Funktionsbereiche sind in zwei Einheiten aufgeteilt, um eine Interaktion zwischen den Räume (unsichtbare Räume) zu ermöglichen, wird die Neigung genutzt, die zu unseren Gunsten ist, um das Gebäude mit der Topographie irgendwie hervorzutreten.&#38;nbsp;

“Braunwald "Werkstatt" &#38;amp; "Hotel"Herolind EleziFS21 Final


Im Zentrum von Braunwald, neben der Endstation der Seilbahn in Braunwald, beim ehemaligen Hotel Alpenblick,

von dem noch einige Ruinen vorhanden sind, befindet sich jetzt die Braunwalder "Werkstatt" und das "Hotel".

Da wir wissen, wie wichtig dieser Ort für die Braunwalder Bevölkerung, aber auch für die Touristen ist, dass sie

nach dem ersten Schritt, den sie aus der Bahn machen, auf dieses Gebäude treffen.

Die Absicht dieses Projektes ist es also, eine starke Struktur zu schaffen, die jetzt eine Funktion hat, die eine

Werkstatt und die Low-Key-Hotelzimmer ist.

Die Werkstatt besteht aus einigen multifunktionalen Räumen, die im Moment verschiedenen Werkstätten

gewidmet sind, und der Lobby, die ein öffentlicher Raum ist, ein Treffpunkt für die Einheimischen, eine Ausstellung

für die Werkstatt und so weiter. In der Mitte des Gebäudes haben wir vier Hauptkerne, zwei davon sind

Treppenhäuser für die Hotelzimmer im oberen Stockwerk, und zwei davon haben wir Wasser im Inneren,

technische Räume, und diese sind gleichzeitig die Hauptstruktur des Gebäudes.

Die Vorteile dieser Struktur sind zum Beispiel, dass wenn wir langfristig denken, zum Beispiel nach 50 oder mehr

Jahren, und wir die Funktion ändern wollen, diese Struktur es uns erlaubt, dies jederzeit zu tun.

Und die andere Sache, von der die Einheimischen profitieren könnten, ist die Energie, da wir mehr als 1000 m2 auf

dem Dach haben, die wir mit Solarzellen bedecken können, und die Energie, die wir nicht für die Werkstatt

brauchen, können wir an das Dorf zurückgeben.

In the center of Braunwald next to the last station of the cable car in Braunwald, to the ex- Alpenblick Hotel which

there are some ruins still, now it takes place Braunwald “workshop’’ and ‘’hotel’’.

Since we know how relevant is that spot for Braunwald people but also for the tourists, that they face this building

after the first step that they do out off the train.

So the intention of this project is to create a strong structure, which now has a function that is a workshop and the

low-key hotel rooms.

The workshop consists of some multifunctional spaces which for the moment are dedicated to different workshops

spaces and the lobby which is a public space, a meeting point for the locals, an exhibition for the workshop, and so

on. In the middle of the building, we have four main cores two of them which are staircases for the hotel rooms on

the upper floor, and two of them we have water inside, technical rooms, and simultaneously these are the main

structure of the building.

This structure for instance the advantages that this structure gives as is if we think on long terms for instance after

50 or more years and we want to change the function, this structure it allows us to do this anytime.

And the other thing what locals could benefit from this building is the energy, since we have 1000+ m2 on the roof

we could cover with the solar panels and the energy that we don’t need for the workshop we can give back to the

village.

‘Braunwald Gin Distillery and Bar’Callista LimFS21 Final

Abstract 

Die Braunwald Gin Distillery and Bar will frischen Wind in die bestehende Kulturszene des Ortes bringen. Gin - eine exquisite Spirituose, gemischt mit Wacholderbeeren, Blumen und Kräutern, von denen die meisten im alpinen Klima gedeihen können. Sein Herstellungsprozess lässt viele Möglichkeiten für die Schaffung großer Räume. 
Ausgehend von der Geschichte des Rosengärtens und des Pflanzenschutzgebietes sah ich das Potenzial, diesen botanischen Aspekt des Dorflebens zu vertiefen und ihn zu einem größeren Anziehungspunkt für einen Besuch in Braunwald zu machen. Die Verbindung zum Wasserfall bestätigt zudem meine Vision, dass Braunwald der perfekte Ort für die Gin-Produktion ist. 
Konzipiert als ein Tempel auf einem Hügel, dient jeder Block seinem eigenen einzigartigen Zweck und wirkt wie einzelne Schreine, die den Tempel bilden. Die Teile sind verstreut, um die Nutzung des Geländes zu maximieren, wodurch ein Effekt entsteht, der an Blätter erinnert, die von einem sanften Wind verstreut werden. Zwischen den Räumen sind öffentliche Bereiche eingeflochten, die den Besucher auf eine Reise um sie herum mitnehmen. 
Auf einem kleinen Hügel neben einem kleinen Wasserfall gelegen, ist der Gin-Tempel nur eine kurze Strecke vom Bahnhof entfernt und für Einheimische leicht zugänglich. Ob man einen Cocktail trinken oder einfach nur eine Weile die Aussicht genießen möchte, hier ist für jeden etwas dabei.

 Braunwald Gin Distillery and Bar aims to introduce a breath of fresh air to the existing cultural scene of the village. Gin- an exquisite spirit blended with juniper berries, florals and herbs, most of which can thrive in the alpine climate. Its production process leaves much opportunity for great spaces to be created. The ambition is to create a destination that serves first the community, the existing tourists and then the potential new tourists.From the history of the Rosengärtens and the Plant Protection Area, I saw the potential to expound on this botanical aspect of village life and make it a bigger draw to visit Braunwald. The connection to the waterfall further confirms my vision that Braunwald is&#38;nbsp; the perfect place for gin production. Conceptualised to be a temple on a hill, each block serves its own unique purpose, acting like individual shrines that make the temple. The parts are scattered to maximise the use of the site, creating an effect akin to leaves being scattered by a gentle wind. Pockets of public spaces are interwoven between the rooms, taking the visitor on a journey around them. The roofs are individual but come together to create a fully sheltered experience.Perched on a small hill next to a small waterfall, the gin temple is only a short distance away from the train station and easily accessible to locals. Whether it is to go for a cocktail or to just enjoy the view for awhile, there is something for everyone here.
